What Is A Squeeze Page And How Do I Create One?

0

A lead capture page (aka a squeeze page) allows you to collect users names and email addresses, thus building your opt-in list. Once you have an opt-in list you can increase sales conversions on your affiliate products through follow up email messages. You can also of course, make money selling your own products instead of some other company’s. Thirdly, you can build a relationship with readers who know you, like you and trust you enough to buy from you again and again.

You need to have an autoresponder account, a hosting account, and software to create the squeeze page. There is a bundle of free software available for creating squeeze pages, so don’t think you have to spend a fortune on software.

An autoresponder account will allow you to capture your potential prospects name, and email address, and then send out an automated and custom-made email to them. You get to specify what and when to send, and the autoresponder takes care of the rest. Nice, right? Right!

In my opinion, building a list of targeted prospects is one of the most essential tasks you can do to grow your business. After a while, your list will grow into one of your biggest business assets. It just takes patience and before you know it you have a valuable bit of data.

When you go to create a squeeze page, you need to make sure that you have a clear offer for the visitors/prospects who are going to be landing on your site.

The sole purpose of the squeeze page should be to capture leads and nothing else. That means if you want to maximize your conversions, don’t include other distractions on your squeeze page such as Adsense ads or long lists of links to other pages on your site.

The more options you give people, the less likely it is that they will complete the one you want.

This post will give you some tips on what elements you need to include on your site for maximum response.

Use a strong headline to grab their attention and keep it…

In order to convince people to opt-in to your lead capture page, you first need to stop and grab their attention long enough for them to read your marketing message.

The bold headline is likely going to be the first thing they see, so make it catchy.

Your squeeze page headline should be big and bold so that it stands out.  It should be beneficial to the user, and focus on the main benefit that your product, service, or report will provide to the end user.  Decide on your visitor’s biggest problem and how it can best be solved, and make these points part of the headline.

A good headline will ultimately grab your visitor’s attention, and get them reading the rest of your squeeze page.

List Benefits that keep them begging for more…

Your squeeze page should ideally be getting someone to opt-in in exchange for more valuable information, for example an ebook covering an interesting topic.

Giving something away for free will help tremendously with conversions, but you can also increase them more by building up the product’s value, which in turn causes the visitor to do whatever it takes to get it.

List out the main benefits that the user will receive from opting in.

Make it an irresistible offer so they would be kicking themselves later for not subscribing to your wonderful offer that was free for crying out loud!

Focus on the wants, needs, and desires of your potential customer.  Always let them have a clear vision of what’s in it for them.

Use a strong “Call to action” that gets them scrambling to optin…

People often need to be told what to do. This is particularly true on the internet where people are distracted easily and bounce around from site to site, often without any real purpose.

If you want someone to enter their name and email address TELL them to enter it.

  • Repeat the call to action if you need to, but make sure that somewhere on the page you show people what you want them to do.
  • Include arrows or other graphical elements to show people where they need to enter the information.
  • Make the call to action clear. (Again, your squeeze page should only have ONE main call to action i.e. getting the optin)
  • Use a short video on your page, end the video by telling them to optin, include an arrow that shows them where the optin is.
  • Make the end of the video be a live “demo” of how to fill out the form – just record your screen as you do it so there is NO confusion on what needs to be done.

All of these elements can add up to give you the best possible squeeze page that sucks in leads, and gets the visitor super hungry for more of you irresistible information!
