Traffic Generation: Traditional Article Marketing Techniques Evolved

Just imagine spending one hour to write and submit an article (it takes me about 25

minutes now) and then getting 5,000 unique, targeted visitors on complete auto-pilot.

Let’s break that down into potential earning figures.

5,000 unique visitors converting at 50% on the opt-in page results in 2,500 new

subscribers.

If you can make just $0.50 per month, per subscriber (you should be aiming to earn

$0.75+ per subscriber, per month) then you’ve just added $1250 per month income to your

bottom line.

Article marketing works. Don’t let anyone tell you it doesn’t.

Here are some quick action steps to make article marketing work for you.

1. Write 10-12 short, snappy articles (300-400 words) related to the niche of your list.

2. Create an author resource box that links back to your site with a strong call to action.

An author resource box should include a strong call to action. One of my

resource boxes gets just under a 30% click-thru rate.

3. Submit all ten articles to EzineArticles one day apart. (I’ve found that EzineArticles.com

is the only really worthwhile directory)

4. Monitor the progress of these articles for one month. Track the number of views and

the number of click-thrus.

5. Work out your numbers. How many people subscribed to your list as a result of these

articles? How much is each one of these subscribers worth to you per month?

6. Once you realise how many subscribers each article produces, and therefore how

much profit each article produces, you can assess whether article marketing is

worth your time. If you’re making $15 per article, then you can pay someone to write

as many articles as you want at $10 an article and you’ll make $5 each time.
