This is my first post here on SEOmoz, so I hope you find it useful and I look forwards to your feedback.

Running well planned training sessions can be a great way to build the credibility of SEO at the same time as educating your organisation. But if you don’t put the effort in it can look unprofessional and sloppy. Who’s likely to care about implementing good SEO if you don’t even look like you care about it yourself?

Whether you work in-house, or provide training for clients and colleagues at an agency, here are my top tips for SEOs when it comes to planning and delivering effective training sessions.

Identify SEO Needs

SEO is becoming increasingly broad and complex – not everybody in your business needs to know the granular details of SEO from one end to the other. For example, a developer may be on your course to find out how to build SEO friendly sites, but they probably don’t need to know a wealth of link building strategies.

Call or email the potential attendees and identify what they are hoping to get out of the course. What are the key processes in their working day? How can you make them more effective or efficient through education? Don’t deliver a one-size-fits-all SEO course across your whole organisation – use these insights to build a course which addresses the needs of the attendees.

Prepare

There’s absolutely nothing worse than showing up at someone’s desk with no prep and trying to deliver some training off the cuff. They’re unlikely to actually learn anything, and it will not be a positive experience for either party. Make sure you prepare well in advance – give yourself time to create something truly effective.

Set up a good environment

The middle of an office is rarely a good place for training, so make sure you book an adequate room where you can set up an environment that is conducive to learning. You should also:

Ensure you have the right equipment (e.g. projector, laptop) set up before the session starts

Have all of your handouts printed and organised

Put out notepads and pens in case attendees have forgotten them

Making sure the lighting, temperature etc. is appropriate

Get some drinks, water, and biscuits – people love biscuits.

Essentially you should make sure that attendees have everything they need so that they aren’t distracted.

You should also make sure that the room is arranged appropriately for the type of course that you’re delivering. If it’s going to be technical you may need to show examples on-screen, so ensure people are facing the screen and have a writing surface for notes. If you’re doing a creative session (e.g. linkbaiting ideas, content strategies) you could encourage sharing and conversation by arranging the room so that attendees are facing each other. Finally, if attendees will be undertaking team tasks, small clusters may work best.

Structure

Build your training session around a handful of key learning outcomes – these should be relatively easy to identify if your needs analysis was successful. For a course about optimising blog posts, they could be:

How to use keyword tools

How to identify good target keywords

Where to use keywords in an article.

In addition, Aristotle’s (simplified) ideas on giving a speech are a useful guide for structuring training:

Tell them what you’re going to tell them

Tell them

Tell them what you told them.

I usually use this to structure the course as a whole, as well as for each key learning point. It helps keep the attendees on track and clearly defines different sections.

Finally, if the course is an interactive group session I’d recommend using an ice-breaker to get people sharing and talking. For some ideas, check out these resources:

40 Free Ice Breakers

Ice Breakers, Energizers and Activities

Combining the all of the above, your session may look something like this:

Slides

Powerpoint slides should be clean, minimal signposts for your session – an indication of how the training is progressing. You shouldn’t be filling your slides with text and reading it word for word (although there are some exceptions – if you’re teaching someone how to build an XML sitemap, you’ll probably need some XML up there). Light-hearted images can help to maintain a relaxed atmosphere, but don’t overdo it.

Effective learning won’t come from your crazy powerpoint skills, but it will come from…

1) An Engaging Presentation Style
If you’re not a natural presenter practice in the mirror, in front of your family, in front of your dog – whatever works best for you. The more you do it, the better you’ll get and the more you’ll relax.

If you’re a really nervous speaker, try to develop a routine before you start (e.g. setting up the room, hooking up the projector) that will provide a distraction.

2) Interactive Exercises
Teaching other people, sharing ideas, relaying tasks back to the group can all contribute to a deeper understanding of a subject and higher retention rates.

Exercises could be as simple as writing ideas for link targets on a board and explaining them back to the group, or using computers (if you have a training room that allows it) to research keywords in teams. You can also give attendees a short test on what you’ve just covered, although try to keep them fun.

I’d recommend working at least one exercise into each key learning outcome.

Learn about learning styles

Different people respond best to different methods of teaching. Honey and Mumford’s work on learning styles is well known and identifies 4 main categories:

Activists (those that learn from doing)

Reflectors (from reviewing)

Theorists (from making conclusions)

Pragmatists (by putting ideas into practice and experimenting).

These are usually identified by using a questionnaire, but I’ve seen very experienced trainers spot these traits on the fly and address them accordingly. For an SEO implementing their own training sessions this might be beyond the call of duty, but some reading about learning styles is another step on the path to becoming a training ninja.

Learning styles

Kolb’s learning style

Honey and Mumford

Feedback & Follow Up

Finally, the one thing that I would absolutely recommend to all SEOs who want to get better at training is to ask every attendee to fill out a feedback form when the course is over (I’ve put together a generic feedback form you can use). Try to make the process anonymous so that you get their honest thoughts. It can be hard to take criticism at first, but you should look at each negative comment as an opportunity to get even better.

Soon after the course send a follow-up email with your contact details, soft copies of course materials, links to resources, and a thank you to the attendees for taking the time to come along.

Hopefully this post will give you some information that you can go away and use to deliver better training courses to your colleagues and clients. Of course, I’d welcome any feedback and suggestions in the comments below, or you can always catch me on Twitter.

There are dozens of SEO techniques that are used to get your website to appear higher in the search engine results of Google, Yahoo!, and Bing. The process of SEO (search engine optimization) can be overwhelming. But, there are two elements we can take advantage of that will certainly help.

SEO Page Titles and Page Descriptions

Look at the image below. The results that appear in the search engines reflect your page title and page description. Having the right content in these two areas are bound to help your SEO efforts.

The page title is the headline link that appears in the Google search results. The page description is what describes what the particular page is about. You are allowed up to 70 characters (spaces included) for your page title and up to 150 characters (spaces included) for your page description. Utilize every bit of this space to describe what your page is about. And remember to maximize keywords that may be used by potential customers as they’re searching for you.

Here’s a free SEO character counter for you.

Depending on the platform you’re using to publish your website (Dreamweaver, WordPress, etc…) will depend where you’ll enter this information. Regardless, it will always be in the HTML code of your web pages (this is what Google and the search engines see). You can see the source code of any web page by selecting View>Source in your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc…). You can see how the results from the image above appear to Google in the HTML source code below.

If there is one thing to do that will improve how high you appear in Google, Yahoo!, and Bing search results, adding keyword rich SEO page titles and descriptions is it.

Rules and tips of effective search engine marketing amendment on a daily basis. It is terribly crucial for fulfillment of your search engine optimization efforts that you keep updating your search engine optimization methods primarily based on these changing rules and guidelines. This can be the simplest manner of making certain that you’re perpetually in competition and will be able to sustain your business.

Whether or not your content is excellent, the moment you begin lagging behind in terms of search engine optimization ways and different technicalities, your success graph can immediately begin showing a downward trend. Here is how you can guarantee that your search engine optimization methods are up-to-date thus that you usually keep prior to the race and are able to realize your purpose.

1. Proof reading and Validation: Making certain that any website content is error free and all the functions are being performed properly has been an evergreen entry in every checklist. With websites additional and additional massive, complicated, diverse, and dynamic, finding errors and correcting them becomes that much more extensive job. But, to simplify this highly complicated job a very little bit a number of validation applications and software are obtainable which will be ready to try and do some half of the proofreading and validation job for you. Such tasks could embrace link validation and application testing. You’ll more add on to the duty of testing software by performing manual checking to make the system fool-proof.

2. Web site response speed: Site-speed is one amongst the recently raised issues that can confirm the ranking of a net website or a internet page within the list of search results of search engine. This discussion has been triggered by inclusion of site speed united of the page ranking parameters by Google. The argument is that the response time of any web resource directly determines the popularity among users. This directly puts the quality of server, web speed, and also the hosting service being used into question.

3. Reusable and Reused Content: With more and more avenues and platforms of sharing your content gap up, your SEO strategy wants to be aligned with such dynamics. Especially the long list of social networking platforms should have an effect on your SEO strategy as a result of of their established importance and the very fact the exponentially growing list of their users has highlighted their influence on search engine rankings of net content.

4. Titles and Nomenclatures: File names, page titles, headings, sub-headings and any other kind of nomenclature isn’t simply necessary for managing the content or improving the content, however it additionally affects the SEO leads to a terribly substantially manner. Most importantly, all the titles and nomenclature ought to be aligned and not randomly decided.

5. Content Redirection: When you’ve got a pool of distributed content across varied sources, you wish to confirm that each one of these sources are well connected and no content is left in isolation. Any miss here might seriously affect the identification of your content by any search engine. This also becomes vital in when you’re duplicating your content as you need to confirm that duplication will not hurt your search engine rankings.

Everyone looking to build a website might have heard about SEO- the mysterious Search Engine Optimization. This is a never-ending process that consists of multiple steps and there are always enhancements that can be done to improve website visibility in the search engines.

If you have ever heard about the SEO you might have also heard that one of the basics of successful SEO is the Keyword analysis and that’s exactly what I’m going to speak about today.

Let’s start from the very beginning. The keywords are the words that web surfers use in the search engines to look for the product/service/information needed. This is the “WordPress beginners guide” that you type when you’re looking for the info how and where to start with WordPress and “website design studio” when you’re looking for a company to create a website for you.

1. Define the keywords that people use to find your business.

This step is most important and probably the easiest one and you can complete it in 3 simple steps without any additional software or paid programs offered on the market.

1. Ask your friends and relatives what words and phrases they associate with your business and put them on list.

2. Go to Google and type the keywords and key phrases into the browser and Google will also show you the related searches performed by other people. To make things even easier, you can switch from the Standard view to Related searches view. Just type your keyword to the Google search bar and on the left of the search results page click on the panel “Show search tools” and scroll to the bottom until you see it, and here’s how it looks.

3. Use Google Wonder Wheel- that’s an adorable tool that I love so much. The wonder Wheel is another variation of the Related searches but in a more convenient way and is located right below Related searches view in the left panel. The wonder wheel shows you all related searches and their popularity. You can also click on the related search circle and go even deeper into the search keywords. Put as many related keywords on the list as you can but make sure they are really related to your business, service or product.

2. Find out how many people are actually using the keywords you have selected.

The cool tool you can use here is Google Keywords Suggestion tool. It’s a part of Google Adwords (and is used to find nice keywords for your google ands) but you can use it separately to identify the popularity of the chosen keywords and key phrases. Take a minute to register with Google Adwords and you are ready to use the tool.

Type in your key phrase and Google Keywords Tool will show you the list of related searches (compare it with your list and see if you’re missing something) and the number of Monthly searches for according keyword.

At this stage you can make an excel table with your keywords in the first column and the number of monthly searches in the second one. Now sort your keywords putting the most popular ones on top and less popular ones closer to the bottom.

Delete the keywords that have less that 1000 searches a month except if you offer something really unique and that’s the top number of search engines visitors looking for it.

3. Define your competition and make sure the keywords you have chosen are relevant.

Make yourself a cup off coffee or tee as we’re starting on a pretty boring thing. Now that you have all the possible keywords in your list, we have to find out their relevance and competition.

Let me explain you what I mean for the term “relevance”. Let’s say you produce a software allowing photographers to create cool photography websites easily. One of the great keywords that you might think of is a “photo website” however it is not. If you go to Google and type “photo website” into the search field you will see that the search returned you a list of websites offering stock photography and thus this is not the keyword you should base your website optimization strategy on.

Now back to the competition. This is not really the number of companies offering the same services that you do but rather the number of indexed pages in Google containing your keyword and which you actually have to beat. So type your keyword into the Google search bar, make sure it’s relevant and put the number of indexed pages for the according keyword into your table next to the number of monthly searches.

4. Finding the best keywords

By now you should have a list from about 50 keywords and keywords phrases in the descending order with the appropriate number of monthly searches and competition. If you have a website with the number of pages over 20 you can use all of them, but it you have a simple 5-10 pages website you’ll have to choose the best of the keywords.

The keyword “bestestness” is defined by the ration between relevance, popularity and competition. The keyword which is most close to your business, has the largest number of searches and the smallest competition is the best.

There are lots of coefficients offered by different experts, but if you are not making the keywords analysis every other day you are most likely to forget how to calculate it. So, to keep things simple, you can divide the number of monthly searches to the number of pages indexed for this keyword and multiply by 1000 for example. You’ll get figures like 0,1-0,3, less than 0,1 and much less than 0,01. Small figures mean that there is either a small number of searches for the given keywords of the competition is really high.

You can exclude these keywords, however do check each one individually. If you have the best product in some area, you can easily overcome all the competition and show up in the search engine results for the given keyword.

At the end and having made the ratio analysis you should have around 10 very cool keywords, 10 just cool keywords and around 5-10 nice keywords that also might be useful.

5. Breaking keywords into pages.

Now we’re going to the most complex point. You can’t use all your keywords on just one page. Every page has to be optimized for no more than 2-3 keywords/keyword phrases and of course, they should be 100% relevant to the content of the page.

Choose the best 3 keywords for the home page and spread the rest on the other pages. Now add a few nice keywords for every page. Choose one or two keywords that you can use throughout the pages in the text organically.

Put it all in a spreadsheet. Now you have the list of keywords to use on every page of your website to ensure best visibility for the given keywords in the search engine results. Sorry for the blurred screen but I have to keep my own keyword research results private.

The next step is actually creating the keyword optimized content for the website pages. This is the separate science and I’m going to speak about it in my next post. Stay tuned, make the keywords analysis and check back with us soon!

Last week, i attended WebShare’s Seminar for Success for Google Analytics and Google Website Optimizer training. I already have a decent grasp on GA but really wanted to get some advanced information and gain a better understanding of GA’s potential. Plus, actually getting trained on something is always helpful, even if you feel you know it well!

During the first day, which was an introduction to Google Analytics and user training, I quickly realized that there were a number of tips and tactics that I had NO IDEA about previously. I felt a little silly that I didn’t know that some of these things even existed in GA and got to thinking… if I didn’t know you could use these great tactics, maybe others don’t either.

Following are the tips that I’ll be using in Google Analytics from here on out. You may already be using some of these, but hopefully you’ll find a helpful nugget of information in here.

1. Date Range Made Easy

This actually made me the giddiest of all the features. It’s so simple, yet also so subtle that I had never noticed it before! When you use the date range drop down selection, you can select a month or a week easily by simply clicking on the week or month. WHAT?! I know, that’s what I said.

Month Selection

Week Selection

2. Overview Comparison Reports

This is another one, that I feel a bit silly I didn’t know previously! But if you do a comparison with the past month (or whatever date range you choose), it will show you all the data in the overview. My favorite part is that it will calculate the difference for you and give you a quick overview of the comparison. Pretty dang cool! Plus if you take that information and export it to PDF it’s super easy to send it on to anyone or set up a scheduled email (see below).

3. Regular Expressions FTW

Coming from the dev world, I’ve used regular expressions in the past for many things. I was really excited to learn more about using regular expressions when performing searches, setting up filters, and all other things. Here are a list of the regular expressions you can use. Don’t laugh if you’ve been using these for years, some of us are excited over here!

Wildcards

. = match any single character

* = match – or more of previous

+ = match 1 or more previous

? = match 0 or 1 of previous

| = logical OR

Anchors

^ must occur at the beginning – ^/order\.php = everything that starts with /order.php

$ must occur at end

Grouping

() create match on an item – grand(ma|pa) – (.*) = match any chars

[] create match on one ofe list of items

Escaping

\ escapes any special character – OK I actually giggled out loud in the training because the trainer, David Booth, said “When in doubt, escape it out” [see! hehehehe]

This regular expression allowed me to search for all guides within the /article section of the site

4. Show More Rows

If you have a large site, I’m sure you’ve come across the issue of trying to export all your data but you can only download 500 rows at a time! That can be super annoying if you’re trying to pull data when you have 10,000+ rows you need to get into one spreadsheet. This little trick can save you hours of time
Just add this to the end of the URL: “&limit=”. Then when you export it to CSV (this is the only option it works with), you’ll get the full number you’ve added in the limit. The view on the page will still only show 500 (or whatever it’s set to) but the actual download will have everything you need. There are limitations with the number of rows you can get in Excel but it’s more of a problem with Excel 2005 and earlier.

Normally you can only select 500 rows at a time.

But add “&limit=#” in the URL

Then Select Export to CSV

And voila! You have all your data

A few notes about this feature that came from the comments: 1. You have to use the &limit feature before the # in the URL for it to work and 2. The max you can get using this is 50,000 (Tom Critchlow recommends looking at Excellent Analytics, an excel plugin to get more).

5. Schedule a Report to be Emailed

I’ve actually seen this used previously and was on the receiving end of these reports, but honestly hadn’t thought about how we could use them on SEOmoz until now. These are extremely useful for reports you send often (daily/weekly/monthly) and/or reports you send to users who don’t have access to GA. Also use the “add to existing” feature so you can send multiple reports to one person rather than 2 separate emails.

Another nice feature is that the date range you set up is sticky, so if the report was set up to show the last 30 days, the next email sent out automatically will also pull the last 30 days. Mhmmm woot!

I personally plan on testing this out starting in June with YOUmoz posts. So if you get a YOUmoz post published in June, watch for a follow up email from me with your post analytics.

Bonus Tips!

Here are a couple additional tips I couldn’t leave out. They’re not specific to GA, but work nicely with it!

Search based keyword tool – http://www.google.com/sktool

Rand has talked about this in the past and I’ve used it as well, but I didn’t totally understand the potential! The part I didn’t realize was that if you log in, you’ll get customized suggestions based on your site and your Adwords account. I’ve gone in and used the tool previously but didn’t realize that by being logged in, and having all your accounts hooked together, that you’d actually see data based on your account. This is probably a bit “duh” on my end, but still in case you didn’t know… well now you do.

Google URL builder!

Setting up a campaign is much easier than I realized! There’s actually a simple tool that helps you easily create the campaign URLs. Just fill out this form, and it pops out the URL for you to use in your campaign. Pretty nifty!

Purpose of Keywords and Rank:

There are two reasons you want to rank your keywords in the search engines. To get traffic to your “money page” or to get your money page ranked very high!

Purpose of Keywords and Rank:

There are two reasons you want to rank your keywords in the search engines. To get traffic to your “money page” or to get your money page ranked very high!

So the SEO mistakes we see are:

People are NOT selecting “Money keywords”! And from talking to few of our customers, we have realized that they do not see the difference between the traffic keyword and the money keyword.

So here is an example: “Honda” this is a main keyword, but not targeted money keyword. Honda Accord, this is getting to the money keyword! Honda Accord EX, this is much, much better! But “Cheap Honda Accord EX” or “Review of Honda Accord EX” is a money keyword.

BUT… In the example given, if you are earning from Google ads, you can earn some money from the example above, but most people do not shop online for high ticket stuff, such as car, as you really should examine the car before you buy it (ha ha ha). But the example above was just to show you how you should search for your money keywords. Replace “Honda” with any product name, and start looking for keywords where people are getting ready to spend money. If you are spending time and money on a keyword that will never EVER convert into any customer or cash, it is worthless and you are making one of the ultimate seo mistakes!

Side Note to Affiliates: Pick a product that has a price tag of at least $50 and can be packaged into a very small box or of course digital delivery. The reason is that those type of products sell a lot more online then heavy stuff such as 3 PC sofa set.

The Traffic Keyword:

There is also difference between money keyword and traffic keyword. Traffic keyword is more “Review of Honda Accords”! You see, someone searching for review of Honda accords, they are narrowing down the model they want to buy, and that type of traffic is very “warm lead” traffic.

That type of traffic will convert a lot better into a paying customer than if you went for “Review of Honda’s”, as with Honda you have motorcycles as well as cars, so you really would not know what Honda review they need.

And here is one of the most surprising SEO mistakes on keywords. Even when they do find the one that is good. They seem to ignore on page optimization for those keywords.

Know this, the page that has on page optimization done will need a lot less links than a page that has no optimization. So have your keywords in the URL, In the Title, and at keyword density between 1-3%! On page optimization takes only about 5 minutes of your time, and it will save you hours in the long run.

So this concludes SEO mistakes Part 1 and soon we will be sending you SEO Mistakes part two!

The problem with SEO is that it sounds easier to do than it really is. If you don’t know what you doing with SEO, it can almost seem impossible. Below we discuss a couple of concepts that you must understand regarding SEO.

First of all, visitors to your site must find it easy to use and understand. You’ll know that you have to work on it if even you can’t figure out how to get back to your home page. If you want to get to and remain at the top of the search engine rankings, you will need a site that reads well and is easily navigable. If your site is overflowing with ads and a visitor can’t tell what’s a link and what’s not, you’re not going to fare well in the page rankings. You’ve heard the saying, ‘less is more.’ When it comes to design and ease of reading, you want to err on the side of less.

When it comes to SEO, links are extremely important. When you use a link, always be sure it is a high ranking site you are linking to, and you will see your page rise in ranking as well. Not simply incoming links are weighed in the SEO universe, of course. You need to worry about the outbound links as well. Make sure your own site links to other high ranking websites in your niche as well. Since these authors are going to be happy you linked to them, they will most likely link back to you. You’ll also see a status increase as your reputation in your niche gets established, and your rankings go up. If you want original content but dont like writing you can get it for free

Do not try and optimize your page for more than one keyword. When you make a post or page, use one keyword or phrase to emphasize. People who try to overload their content with too many keyword phrases end up producing gobble-dee-gook. Remember, you want your content to be readable and enjoyable. The visitors to your site will turn their back on you and go to your competitor’s site if your content sounds like spam because of all the keywords you’ve tried to include. In the end, you are in the business of pleasing your readers, not the search engine crawlers.

Search engine optimization comes with so many rules and nuances that you might be daunted by the large task of sorting it all out in order to just get a few articles posted. Not only that, these rules and regulations are always changing! But if you keep at it and don’t allow yourself to become frustrated, you can reap the benefits of using SEO before you know it. Who knows, you could see your page on the first page search of Google soon! Dont forget it is not all about a nice website you will need traffic and lots of it, you might want to check out

Many website owners today are becoming aware of the fact that SEO is absolutely necessary in order to attract large quantities of traffic from search engines. Search engines often look for websites that are providing quality content that is relevant to the searches being performed on their sites. This is why search engines favor websites that target a specific keyword that is related to the information provided within the website’s content.

No matter what type of website you may be promoting, you should always keep in mind that the quality and the quantity of the content your website contains is likely one of the most important factors when it comes to attracting new visitors to your site through the pages of search engines. If your website does not have a vast amount of quality content present on its pages, you will almost certainly find it difficult to attract new visitors to your website through search engine portals.

If you are simply starting from scratch with your website and you wish to create a content-based site, there are a few steps you should take in order to increase the probability that search engines will send traffic to your site. Before you write content for your website, you should select keywords that you will implement into the content you create. Before you can choose the best keywords for your website though, you should thoroughly research the different keywords you can take advantage of.

After you have discovered a keyword that you can insert into your website, you should make sure that you add the keywords to your website in a professional manner. Search engines do not give credence to websites that spam particular keywords. If you want to avoid making your website appear to be a spam website, you should only insert your keywords sparingly into the content you create.

If you would like to increase the reputation of your website in the eyes of search engines, you should definitely look for ways that you can increase the amount of links on the Internet that are pointing to your website. You should also make sure that your website is connected to many valuable websites in order to increase the credibility of your site even further.

By having your website connect to many different websites around the Internet, you can be certain that search engines will view your site as a credible website. Search engines believe that websites that are connected to many other websites are often providing more valuable content that other websites that are not connected to other sites around the Internet.

Another important tool you can take advantage of when you are performing SEO, if you wish to increase the results you are achieving with your keyword targeting, is a strategy that uses meta- tag and page description portions of a website. If you can match the meta- tags and descriptions you have on your website to the content your website contains, you can greatly increase the chances that your website will show up as a top result on search engine result pages.

When you’re attempting to force traffic to a new domain, in your SEO strategies, you may be wondering, do you have systems that youhave created within your business for each one of the different traffic channels that you use?

Yes. I have a team and Ihave also mapped out the system. So I am able to simply refer to a mind map and see each of the traffic channels and tick off if it’s been activated or not. There are some that are just on auto default. That will happen for each single article. It’ll rely on whether it is evergreen content or whether it’s’s time dependent, if itis a launch or just a general article, as to how hard I’ll push it.

It’s funny, you might be thinking. You might be wondering, in our SEO systems, how does one log what sort of traffic channels you are activating for those pages?

I’ve just got a mind map which has most of the available options on it. I just look at it and see whether Ihave activated one. So as an example, I would look at PPC and I could say, OK, have I got a search campaign, tick, have I got content network, yes, have I got banners and text in the content network, have I put my negative list, am I going for second tier pay per click traffic, am I going for CPV traffic? I’ll just tick the box.

I’ll use my core words and my seed article. If I have extra content, I’ll sometimes have photos and audio so I can generate videos from it or Iwill have an interview or an Animoto video.

This person has discussed before itis nearly like you’ve got some default things that are done. Then it’s like, depending on whether you need to juice it up, you tick some of those other boxes. Now you might be wondering about the default things that you do, to wreck that down, to go actually granular, what are the default things that you want to do?

Well an article will always be posted to my blog and then submitted to article directory sites. Then there will be separate blog comments linking back to the article from a blog network. There’ll be links acquired to link back to the post. They’re all default things. The additional ones would be forum comments, PR release and say Google local submission, that sort of stuff.

One thing that we hadnot dug too much into, I suspect we do it more where we are as far as selling links. We do that through text link adverts. You could be wondering, when buying links, what service you look at for that.

I pretty much use Linkvana. I also have access to 2 private blog networks that are not publicly available, which Ihave cultivated. I have my personal one and I joint venture with someone else. I let them use mine and I use theirs.

Now you could be thinking, you’re doing this promotion. You’ve got your default which will just roll out. You’re one I know who looks at your stats and that sort of thing. You’re monitoring which keywords are obviously changing. You did some of that also thru your pay per click primary testing also to decide which of them you are going to juice up further. That will depend on is it evergreen or are there any other triggers that push you into going, right, I am going to look at a forum or a public relations release or videos?

Basically when I find stuff changing, I just start to sector in on it more. They will identify themselves, particularly with the paid selling. If it’s changing from paid selling, itis a truly good sign. You should leverage it out with free traffic also.

With all the different things we’ve talked about, and I know there are such a lot of different factors which make up getting positions in Google, or any search engine actually, you could be wondering, if you had to just say down to one thing, what the single biggest ranking factor is, what do you see, with all the testing that you have done, is the single largest factor when it comes to ranking sites?

potentially the page title.

You could be wondering, how doyou do your page titles? Clearly you have the keyword. Are there any other SEO systems that you do to get the maximum out of that page title?

You have to put it action call if you can. It should be a selling title. You’re actually going for the conversion. It’s not enough simply to be ranked at the top. It isn’t making any difference, if it does not compel folk, it’s worthless. So that’s where I had this big epiphany and I split tested. I had 2 identical blogs but a touch different mechanisms. The one with the stronger call to action just blitzed it like 98 to two out of 100. It was so significantly different. This is how the SEO experts do it.
